Pre-Construction


At Custom Practices we believe successful construction projects are the result of a well–defined and executed pre-construction plan. By establishing ourselves as an integral part of the project early on, and educating clients about construction throughout the process, we find we are able to leverage the full benefit of our expertise and better attain the budget and scheduling goals of the client. When working with the client, design professionals, engineers and other partners, these services can also help to avoid the pitfalls that may adversely affect a successful project.
SITE ANALYSIS – By visiting the site/space and checking for existing conditions that may affect costs or schedules, Custom Practices confirms that the site or space will allow and conform to the requirements of the project and the client’s expectations.

CONSTRUCTABILITY REVIEW – When developing plans, or reviewing design documents drawn by others, Custom Practices will verify the scope and details intended by the client are reflected accurately in the plans, and will work with client to maintain their project budget.

FINISH SELECTIONS – Custom Practices has the knowledge to help you select the finishes, flooring materials, lighting types, and plumbing fixtures that will look and function best in your facility. Our experience allows us to help you make informed decisions that create the environment you seek.

PERMITTING AND REGULATORY REVIEW – We provide information on necessary paperwork and requirements of local jurisdictions. In cases when hired to do so, we can also take on the responsibility of obtaining all required documents and submitting to the required government agencies for permitting and approvals.

FINANCIAL PRO-FORMA – Our experience and abilities allow us to assist our clients and prospective clients with a financial pro-forma during the concept phase of projects. This allows clients to more confidently plan project budgets and gives the ability to provide estimated project costs to lenders and financial advisors.

Construction


We’ve had the opportunity to learn from every project we’ve been involved in and have developed an integrated set of services and protocols to provide our clients. These services carry on throughout the entire evolution of each project, helping to provide value, budget controls, accurate scheduling, and the best use of your funds.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT – Custom Practices establishes communication with all team members that will be involved on your project (designers, architects, equipment providers, client staff, furniture providers, technology providers, etc) to ensure proper planning and to avoid surprises during the project.

COMPREHENSIVE SCHEDULING SERVICES -- Custom Practices schedules the entire project, start to finish. By identifying key milestones, we are able to drive towards project completion in an organized and predetermined manner.

Design


From a floor-plan concept to developing the final construction documents needed for permitting, Custom Practices has the ability to provide, or assist in developing, all the design/engineering requirements for the project. We are also familiar with local codes and permitting requirements, which can vary city to city.

Post-Construction


Our job doesn’t end with a Certificate of Occupancy.  
CLOSEOUT PROCEDURES AND DOCUMENTS – The project doesn’t end when we turn over the project to the client for move in. The client may need assistance and follow up. We make sure items such as warranties, lien releases, as-built drawings, finish schedules, equipment training, and service agreements, are all taken care of before we complete the job.
